HIFU FAQs2020-03-22T00:23:45+11:00

HIFU – Frequently Asked Questions

HIFU in a non-surgical treatment with no downtime, used to remove wrinkles, lift and strengthen the loose skin of the forehead, eyelids, brows, cheeks, jawline, neck, as well as loose skin on the body that often occurs  following weight loss and after child birth.
What Exactly Is High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)?2020-03-21T22:03:44+11:00

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is a non-surgical, no downtime procedure used for eliminating wrinkles, lifting and tightening sagging skin of the forehead, brows, eyelids, cheeks, lower face (jawline), neck, loose skin that occurs after weight loss on stomach, arms, thighs, flanks, buttocks and loose skin after pregnancy.

How Does HIFU Work?2020-03-21T22:11:10+11:00

It utilises ultrasonic energy to penetrate deep below the skin and fat layer of the face to gently but effectively target connective tissue. Connective tissue is a firm, tough layer that supports the neck and facial contours. Ageing and the passage of time cause connective tissues to droop. High Intensity Focused Ultrasound tightens loose connective tissue, creating firmness and lift to areas of sagging skin. The layer of tissue targeted is the same tissue that plastic surgeons tighten and shift during a surgical face-lift or brow lift.

What Problem Areas Does HIFU Target?2020-03-21T22:13:25+11:00

HIFU works on the full face, double chins & neck, chest, arms, elbows, tummy, inner thighs and knees. HIFU addresses mild to moderate loose or sagging skin.

When Will I See Results And What Can I Expect?2020-03-21T22:15:35+11:00

Whilst you’ll see a difference immediately after the procedure, smoother, firmer, and brighter skin will develop over the course of 2-3 months with continued improvement for up to 6 months and lasting approximately 2-3 years. The treatment causes collagen formation in the dermis, giving longer lasting results that occur gradually but dramatically over time. By reconditioning and renewing the skin from within, HIFU will lift the brow, which in turn reduces excess skin on the lids, opens up the eyes, and gives a more refreshed look overall.

Why Does It Work So Well?2020-03-21T22:19:50+11:00

Ultrasound technology is focused below the skin surface to firm and lift droopy tissues. Non-invasive ultrasound energy generates low levels of heat in the targeted skin. This stimulates the cells for collagen production and tissue rejuvenation. With just one treatment, HIFU pushes mature skin to start working hard again. Since its release HIFU has been quickly growing in popularity with experts worldwide as an advanced device for serious sagging.

What Makes HIFU So Unique?2020-03-21T22:28:48+11:00

HIFU is the only non-invasive treatment that can specifically target the deep foundation below the skin (addressed in cosmetic surgery) without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. It is also the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging, which allows us to actually see the layers of tissue we target during treatment and ensure the energy is deposited precisely where it will be most effective.

What Are The Benefits Of HIFU?2020-03-21T22:32:54+11:00

* No cuts to the skin and no potential for scarring

Your Paramedical Aesthetician/ HIFU Specialist will then mark the areas of your face and/or body that are being treated. Following this, the HIFU machine is then applied to the face and body in the desired areas sending high intensity ultrasound pulses focused deep into the muscle layer. As this energy is delivered collagen starts to build and repair. This process begins immediately and the whole process will continue for up to 6 months. Over this time all levels of the skin down to the muscle layer will continue to heal repair and tighten.

If you are sensitive to pain, you might choose to self-medicate half an hour before the treatment to make the experience more comfortable. You CAN go home straight after treatment unless you have self-medicated in which case you should make travel arrangements.

What is HIFU Glow Facial?2020-03-21T23:44:23+11:00

HIFU GLOW facial is a new treatment add on to our HIFU technology for face and neck uplift. We can now treat sensitive areas around the mouth and eyes at a depth of 1.5 mm which produces incredible results extremely quickly. Some of our customers get immediate results – radiant, plumped and more youthful skin.

This is also an excellent alternative to for those customers with darker skin that cannot be treated with other devices.

With HIFU Glow, we can treat above the eye and below the eye but we cannot get very close to the eye as we can do with the Mini wand which is a pen like device and allows us to get into tiny places that a regular HIFU cartridge cannot fit. Likewise, with the mouth – HIFU Glow can treat areas to the side of the mouth. With Mini HIFU we can go to the very edges of the lips and treat areas no other competitor can do.

More Information: Regular HIFU is done at two depths: 4.5mm and 3mm. That is for general face lifting and skin tightening. We cannot use these two cartridges too close to the mouth and eyes. That is why we use the 1.5 mm cartridge for sensitive areas around the mouth and eyes. When applied to general face and neck areas (like the 4.5 mm and 3 mm cartridges, HIFU glow produces quicker results by being very effective at dealing with fine lines. Our HIFU is a 4D HIFU machines. It is a matter of which cartridges are used for the treatment.
